- My top lust objects...
Basil of Bakerstreet (The Great Mouse Detective) - Is he a man or a mouse? Why choose! Basil is a genius, with an astounding eye for detail and a real passion for his work and seeing justice prevail. Just the right balance of a do-gooder and raving lunatic. I think it's his eccentricity that makes him appealing.
Miguel (The Road to El Dorado) - One of the special things that kept me going back to see The Road to El Dorado again and again 'cause it sure wasn't the music. He's musical and sweet, not to mention handsome. He also has the most beautiful voice ever to grace a cartoon character.
Hades (Hercules) - Don't even ask me why because I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you. He's got...charisma. Plus, he has flames for hair! How cool is that?? Why does evil have to be so attractive?
Francis (A Bug's Life) - I like a guy with attitude, and Francis has that, and then some. Plus, he's adorable. Just don't tell him I said that.
Preed (Titan A.E.) - This guy has been overlooked too many times. Yes, he's a backstabbing jerk, but WHAT a backstabbing jerk! He has some of the funniest lines in all of Titan A.E. For example: "Is it dead? Can we eat it?" Uh...I guess you had to be there. Anyway, I also have a thing for skinny, lanky guys, as is evidenced by the rest of my harem. They don't come much skinnier or lankier than this. In a weird way, I kind of feel sorry for him, too. He wasn't redeemed like Korso. He was just killed. (That made me mad, BTW.) I have the feeling that fate just seriously screwed with his mind along the line. I mean, look at the metal plate in his head. He wasn't born with that! I think he deserved more of a chance than he got.
- Minor crushes...
Trent Lane (Daria) - Guitars. Tatoos. I like.
Freakazoid (Freakazoid!) - A neat-o theme song and even neat-o-er hair! What's he doing with a drip like Steff? He should stop by my place sometime.
Schmendrick (The Last Unicorn) - He's a little dorky guy with a big nose, and I just find that cute. The fact that he can turn trees into huge wooden women is pretty neat, too, though not something I'd encourage him to do too often.
Ling (Mulan) - Again, a geek with a big nose. What is it with these guys? I just like them.
Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice) - Another lust object left over from my childhood. I had it so bad for him that for Halloween when I was six, I dressed up as him. (Only because I couldn't find a decent Lydia costume.) I even kept and wore the mask until it got broken. Sure, he never bathes, has grimey teeth, and eats bugs, but do childhood crushes ever make sense? I didn't think so.
Clopin (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) - Call me a sell-out, but I have to agree with the multitude of Clopin addicts that this guy is totally mesmerizing. Even amidst the incredibly complicated characters of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, this guy takes the cake in that as much of him that we see, we never seem to see all of him. It's like that mask he wears. The singing, dancing clown that he seems to be throughout most of the movie is all show, leaving us wondering what it's covering up. I find myself curious about what he's like when he's not entertaining everyone around him.
Allen Schezar (The Vision of Escaflowne) - I'm not sure whether it's lust or jealousy that I feel towards this guy. I mean, LOOK AT THAT HAIR!!! All bow before the Hairspray King! I'd kill to have a mane like that. It must be fun to braid...
Hyde (That 70's Show) - Okay, okay, I realize that I'm pushing it here, but he was animated, along with Fez, Kelso, and Eric, in the episode "After Glow". Technically, he qualifies, so NYAH! Anyway, I just love a rebel, and a rebel Hyde is. He's also so much better-looking that Kelso.
Tarzan (Tarzan) - The first time I saw Tarzan, which I'd rented from Blockbuster, I was just in awe. Half of it was just from this guy alone. He looks incredible! And this is from a girl who traditionally doesn't like muscles. He's also brave, strong, and very smart. Hey, he'd have to be to be able to learn so quickly and win a girl like Jane.
The Beatles (The Beatles) - The Fab Four were animated in their own cartoon series from 1965 to 1969. Even though I haven't seen the actual show, just images and clips, I love these guys too much to leave them out of my harem. Together they possess all the qualities I could want in a guy. George (middle) was always my favorite. The "Quiet One" IMHO never got enough attention. So pensive and mysterious. Paul (left) has the cutest little baby face and a beautiful singing voice. I just wanna pinch his cheeks like a great-aunt at a family reunion. John (right) was good looking in his own "write," as well. (Little Beatle joke there. Ha ha.) And he's one of my favorite musicians of all time, rest his soul. Ringo (background) had the nose thing going on. Plus, he always seemed like an innocent little puppy. (I like puppies.) Even though all four have moved on, the legend of the greatest rock 'n' roll band ever will never fade.
Silent Bob (Clerks) - My favorite character from the GREAT movie Dogma, as well as a character in three other Kevin Smith movies and a tragically short-lived animated cartoon series on ABC, Bob knows when to keep his mouth shut, which is almost always. He uses words sparingly, which makes everything he says extra cool.
Yao (Mulan) - Okay, so he's not especially gifted in the looks department. OKAY, he looks like he got hit by a truck. But that's not the point. I think he'd just be fun to tease. I like watching him turn red, kind of like a mood ring. ;-)
Kuzco (The Emporer's New Groove) - Even thought I usually don't go for snotty brats like Kuzco, he really grew on me as he matured throughout the movie. I think he had me when they showed him crying in the rain. My heart just went out to him. But still...MAN, he was an ugly llama!
Dean McCoppin (The Iron Giant) - I like artsy guys. And guys in black. And coffee house guys. And beatniks. Hm. Well, that pretty much sums him up, huh?
Chichiri (Fushigi Yugi) - Oh, he's so cute! I just adore Chichiri! He can be awfully sweet and funny, plus he has all those neat magic powers. His wisdom is also very attractive.
Captain Tylor (The Irresponsible Captain Tylor) - Tylor has a weird sort of charm. He's either the world biggest, and luckiest, idiot or a bonafide super-genius. I don't really care either way. Even if he did turn out to be the moron that most everyone is so certain he is, I'd still be crazy about him. He's got his own brand of sex appeal.
Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop) - To be quite frank, I didn't really know what everyone loved about Spike so much...that is, until I actually started watching the show. Good god, he's sexy! He's got the greatest lanky, muscular body and a cool 'fro! Despite some icky habits, like swallowing cigarettes, Spike must make every fan-girl drop her jaw. I bet he can do some amazing things with his tongue...
Gaddes (The Vision of Escaflowne) - A secondary character I feel doesn't get recognized enough. For one thing, Allen would be lost without him. He's just so cool. I always like the scenes with him in them, even it is only in the background.
Tasuki (Fushigi Yugi) - Oh, my little fang boy! Where Chichiri is adorable and sweet, Tasuki is complex and just plain sexy. That firey red hair is to die for. He's a character in the show that really grabbed me as I finished the last few episodes. I was sad when I realized that I was really going to miss him. One of the sexiest anime guys ever, if you ask me.
Nuriko (Fushigi Yugi) - I didn't really like Nuriko at the beginning of the show. I thought that he (or she, at the time) was cruel and snobbish. I'm glad that wasn't the real Nuriko. My liking for Nuriko was deepened when he shared a painful part of his past, concerning his sister. His death scene was truly the most painful one to watch.
Dryden (The Vision of Escaflowne) - Yes, another Escaflowne guy. Dryden really shouldn't be charming, but he is. It's odd. He looks so grungy and says some pretty obnoxious things but really has a great heart. Now that I think about it, I really don't mind stubble on a catch like this. ;-)
- If I was a guy...
Chi Chian (Chi Chian) - Chi Chian is the tragically not well-known heroine of the brilliant comic book and animated series of the same name, created by Voltaire. Being only half Japanese in a 31st century New York City where ancestry determines status, she battles to save the place from the corrupt forces of the Patahn Pahrr and form peaceful relations between the humans of New York and the secret society of intelligent cockroaches that resides below the city. Hmm...it's too complicated to explain here. Go to Chi Chian's website at Sc-Fi.com to learn more about her. She's kind, sweet, and innocent. She also has a KILLER outfit.
Sawyer (Cats Don't Dance) - She's perty. An independent cat...woman...cat...and a great dancer with the voice of an angel. Sawyer really did deserve to be a star. I just love the way she's drawn and how she moves. Plus, she's a real snazzy dresser, if you ask me.
The Spring Sprite (Fantasia 2000) - I was absolutely astounded the first time I saw the preview for Fantasia 2000, just from the Spring Sprite's brief appearance. Everything about her is absolutely gorgeous. Her eyes. Her hair. She's just indescribable except for one word: perfect.
Megara (Hercules) - Meg's beautiful, sassy, and she don't take crap from nobody, not even the Lord of the Underworld. I have to admire that in her. She needs to eat something, though.
Mulan (Mulan) - A great girl with a mind of her own. She refuses to surrender herself to the traditional Chinese views of women. As a plus, she's good-looking as a girl and a boy.
Chel (The Road to El Dorado) - Yet another independent thinker who knows how to get what she wants. And yet again, COOL HAIR! Also, her background theme song has to be the coolest in the movie, quirky and seductive.
Betty Boop (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) - I love Betty's sense of style. If I could get away with it, I'd dress just like her. I guess you could call her a semi-role model for me. I just love her brief appearance in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? She should have gotten more screen time.
Jane Lane & Daria Morgendorfer (Daria) - I'd really just like to hang out with these two, being a sort of misfit in the high school pecking order myself. I could trade art tips with Jane and discuss classic literature with Daria. We'd probably make a pretty good trio.
Jessie the Cowgirl (Toy Story 2) - I remember the first time I saw a picture of Jessie in Time Magazine in the summer of '99. She immediately struck me as the coolest character since Bugs Bunny. I just knew I'd love her. Low and behold, she became my favorite new character in the gang of Andy's room! I even cried during her sequence remembering Emily. And for me, that's saying something.
Lydia (Beetlejuice) - Another girl whose clothes I really admire. I'm planning on a red spider cloak for myself, actually. Where to find a portal to the Neitherworld, though, I'm not sure. She has the coolest black hair, pale skin, and Gothy clothes. Plus, she's cozy with Beetlejuice. I tell ya, I'm a little jealous.
Stith (Titan A.E.) - I just like her legs.
Roxanne (A Goofy Movie) - I always thought that Roxanne was just nice and sweet. She was my role model for a few years.
Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold!) - Most of all, I can sympathize with her. When I get really get crushes, I REALLY GET CRUSHES. I'm also very aggressive with any guys that I like. If a guy out there has any bruises from me, it's more than likely that I have it bad for him. Helga and I would probably be good friends if I'd gone to her school in the 4th grade.
- Not quite beastiality.../font>
Timon (The Lion King) - I love the fact that underneath that fast-talking exterior, he's a big (in a manner of speaking) softie. He can also be so cute when he lets himself. Just a really likable little meerkat.
Rocky the Flying Rooster (Chicken Run) - Along with Timon, a seemingly over-confident, slightly schmuck-ish guy with a big heart. Despite some really big mistakes, this rooster redeems himself over and over again. And his tail feathers are really pretty, too. :-)
Donald Duck (Fantasia 2000) - Yes, yet another childhood crush! My first, in fact. I can remember writing to Santa Claus when I was four. (Okay, so I dictated it to my dad. Big diff.) I asked Santa to bring Donald to life for me. I even drew a terrible picture of him on it, just in case Santa needed some help. I was disappointed that Christmas.
- The misfits...
Jar Jar Binks (Star Wars: Episode I) - I don't care that he's clumsy. I don't care that he's an alien. Jar Jar is cool. And I don't care if you hate him! All the more for me. :-)
Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast) - From the time I saw Beauty and the Beast as a little girl, I had a little crush on this guy. To my chagrin, I still do. I think it's the accent, and that laugh. And I still think he looks better as a candlestick.
Buzz (Toy Story) - I have to admit, after seeing the first Toy Story, I thought Buzz was kind of a dope. I liked Woody much better. But since seeing the sequel, Buzz really grew on me. It was probably seeing how much he'd grown in the years since we'd seen him last. Jessie's a lucky cowgirl. Now, with Buzz's new cartoon TV show on the air and both Toy Story movies on DVD, I've got all the Buzz I could want.
Brak (Cartoon Planet) - "Chicks dig him." For some reason, Brak is just more charming (as strange as it may sound) than his two co-hosts on Cartoon Planet. He's absolutely adorable...despite looking like a space pirate with a weird mask and razor sharp teeth. His segments like "School Daze" and songs like "Highway 40" just won me over. Oh, and he likes beans.
Ickis (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters) - My big obsession in 5th grade. I drew him on everything! Not sure what I saw in him, but I still think that he's great for some reason. :-)
- Welcome to my petting zoo...
The Butterfly (The Last Unicorn) - Yes, that strange little fellow from The Last Unicorn. Watching the movie when I was young, I always looked forward to his scene and his songs. Plus, I always had a feeling that he was actually much more aware than he pretended to be. He just likes to sing little ditties and have a good time, is all.
Djali (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) - Here's one thing that's a bit confusing about Djali: I'm not totally sure which gender "he" is. Djali's usually referred to as a male goat, which makes total sense, but Hugo seemed to have a little crush on him. Does that make Hugo gay? Food for thought.
Marahute (The Rescuers Down Under) - My favorite part of Rescuers Down Under, and this character didn't even have any lines! I just loved imagining soaring through the clouds on the back of a beautiful, majestic bald eagle. That was one of my favorite childhood daydreams.
Henwen (The Black Cauldron) - Another character with too little screen time. For a pig, she's very pretty. Have you ever seen eyelashes like that on a farm animal? Maybe it comes with the psychic ability. If you ask me, The Black Cauldron should have centered around her more than it did. Maybe it would have added some much-needed coherence to the story.
Toby (The Great Mouse Detective) - Basil's faithful hound. I just wish I could scratch his belly, he's so cute. And talk about dedicated! He goes after any bad guy with full force, which is very useful considering that he's much bigger than most villians of Mousedom.
Ein (Cowboy Bebop) - A genius dog? That's cool. I also just LOVE corgies! Faye should really try being nicer to him.
- The young'uns of the harem...
Wakko (Animaniacs) - Ah, the Warner brother suffering from "middle child syndrome." For years, Animaniacs was one of my favorite shows. Still is, now that I think of it. Dot was cute. Yakko was cool. Wakko was...wakko. We all need a little craziness. He's mine.
Big Fat Baby (Histeria!) - I watch Histeria! every week morning. (That is, except on Fridays when they show Batman Beyond.) I've grown attached to this stinky little thing.
Hogarth Hughes (The Iron Giant) - He reminds me a lot of some of the boys I used to know in elementary school. The nice ones, anyway. He's just so cute and smart. Great kid.
Arnold (Hey Arnold!) - He has an amazing history for a 4th-grader. His parents were philanthropic scientists. He lives with his very cool grandparents in an even cooler room. He helps anyone he comes across, even when they may not really deserve it. Though I was slow to warm up, tending not to be crazy about goody-two-shoes, Arnold really got me.
- Characters created by fans...
Oscar Milde (The GMD Pastiches) - The greatest-ever rodent personification of the wonderfully tragic Oscar Wilde. Wilde was an amazing author who died too young. Then again, he did it with style, as he did with everything. ("Either this wallpaper goes, or I do.") I love his romantic sensibility and British wit. This "pastiche" character, the representation of all those things that I love so much about the late and great Mr. Wilde, definitely belongs here. (Oscar Milde was created and drawn by Diane N. Tran.)
Andromeda (Dromey's Hercules Fanfics) - Just look at her! She's HOT! And, no, she isn't THAT Andromeda. This one is a half-nymph who got hired as a hench-wench under Hades. And, uh, let's just say that their relationship was a little more than just professional... (Andromeda was created and drawn by Candy Palmer.)
